Job summary

Pepper Construction Group invites motivated college students to join as a 2027 Summer Project Engineer Intern in the Chicagoland area. You will be paired with a Project Manager and/or Superintendent and gain exposure to submittals, take-offs, budgets, and owner meetings.

You will participate in training sessions, jobsite tours and safety activities, and compete in an intern project simulating bidding and winning work as a general contractor.

Qualifications

• College student entering Sophomore to Senior year in CM/CE.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with computers and new software.
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
• Must have reliable transportation to work daily.
• Willing to work in the Chicagoland area Memorial Day to Mid-August.
• Participate in a 12-week internship with real-life project exposure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing submittals and take-offs under supervision.
• Assist with budget preparation and cost tracking.
• Attend job site and owner meetings when assigned.
• Participate in intern training sessions and site tours.
• Support safety programs and project documentation.
• Contribute to an intern project competition simulating bidding and contracting.
