Job summary

Pepper Construction Company is seeking a qualified student for the Construction Project Management Intern position in the Chicagoland area for Summer 2027. You will work directly with a Project Manager and/or Superintendent, gaining exposure to submittals, take-offs, budgets, and on-site/owner meetings.

The 12-week program runs from Memorial Day to Mid-August. Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills are essential, and reliable transportation to multiple sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Current college student entering Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year studying Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Construction Engineering.
• Good communication skills – verbal and written.
• Strong computer skills that allow learning new technology quickly.
• Able to work independently but also as part of a team.
• Skilled at multitasking while maintaining attention to detail.
• Reliable self-transportation to and from work activities daily.
• Ability to work in the Chicagoland area including far north and/or south suburbs.
• Able to participate in the 12-week program from Memorial Day to Mid-August in the Chicagoland area.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager/Superintendent with submittals and take-offs.
• Potentially help prepare budgets and attend job site/owner meetings.
• Participate in training sessions, jobsite tours and safety activities.
• Engage in an intern project competition simulating bid/win processes as a general contractor.
