Job summary

Isthmus Engineering in Minnesota is seeking a 2027 Summer Civil Engineering Intern to contribute to roadway, traffic, or transit projects. You will be paired with a Career Advocate who mentors you throughout the internship and guides weekly Intern Conversations with experienced engineers.

Responsibilities include basic design work, organizing documentation, and plan prep using CADD, while gaining exposure to transportation-focused civil engineering in a supportive, hybrid-work environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program with at least two years completed.
• Interest in transportation engineering and related courses preferred.
• Ability to use design software tools (CADD) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic design and engineering calculations.
• Organize information for designs, drawings, or documents.
• Assist with plan preparation using design software such as CADD.
• Support engineers in various tasks and duties.
• Demonstrate ongoing commitment to personal and company improvement.
