Job summary

HR Green is seeking a Transportation Civil Engineering Intern to support planning, design, and analysis of roadways and bridges in a dynamic team. You will gain hands-on experience with transportation projects and collaborate with experienced engineers in a real-world setting.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Civil Engineering and available for full-time summer work in 2027, with exposure to AutoCAD or similar tools considered a plus. Compensation is hourly.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Availability to work full time in office during Summer 2027 (mid-May to early August).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, OpenRoads or similar civil design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and design of roadways, highways, intersections, bridges, and other transportation projects.
• Assist with calculations, data collection and analysis, drawings, plans, reports and project documentation.
• Gain exposure to design tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D or OpenRoads.
• Participate in field visits to understand existing conditions and relate linework to physical improvements.
• Visit construction sites to connect plans with on-site execution and equipment.
• Work alongside engineers and designers while learning transportation project life cycles.
