Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, in Cincinnati, OH, seeks a Transportation Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will assist in designing roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure for the DOT, gaining hands-on experience on real projects.

As an enrolled Civil Engineering student, you will use AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer, help with calculations and documentation, and collaborate across multiple offices to deliver results.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Previous internship or DOT project experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure for DOT and municipal clients.
• Create design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer.
• Support engineers with calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices.
• Participate in solving real engineering challenges and managing project deliverables.
