Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. in Richmond, VA invites applications for a Civil Engineering Intern (Summer 2027).

This role supports design and development of traffic studies, water, storm and sanitary sewer studies, site and roadway plans, under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with site grading, erosion control design, CAD drafting, storm water management, and field inspections, plus construction administration duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in community college courses or a college degree program.
• Focus on civil engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of project scope to include site grading, erosion and sediment control design, CAD design and drafting, storm water management design, water treatment, traffic analysis and/or utility design
• Assist with field inspections.
• Observe and participate in construction administration (RFI/Submittal) responsibilities.
