Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. in Chicago, IL invites a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team. You will gain hands-on experience in traffic, water, storm and sanitary sewer studies, and construction plans for infrastructure projects.

Under supervision, you’ll support site grading, CAD work, and field inspections while learning project workflows and quality standards. This internship offers growth, mentorship, and exposure to real-world engineering challenges.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Enrolled in community college courses, a college degree program, or continuing education.
• Civil engineering or related discipline focus strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site grading, erosion and sediment control design, CAD design and drafting, storm water management design, water treatment, traffic analysis or utility design.
• Assist with field inspections.
• Observe construction administration responsibilities (RFI/Submittal).
