Job summary

Bowman Consulting is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for a summer 2027 opportunity in Prince William, VA. You will support project teams with basic technical tasks, data collection, and documentation while applying engineering principles on real projects.

Under supervision, you will gain hands-on experience in CAD design, stormwater concepts, and construction administration while interacting with multiple departments and peers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in community college courses, a college degree program, or formal continuing education program.
• Focus on engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project scope including site grading, erosion control, CAD design and drafting, stormwater, water treatment, traffic, and utilities.
• Assist with field inspections.
• Observe and participate in construction administration (RFI/Submittal) duties.
