Job summary

True Friends is seeking a Summer Camp HR & Volunteer Services Assistant to support onboarding, staff and volunteer records, and orientations across three Minnesota camp locations. The role offers on-site housing and meals during employment and opportunities to assist with organizational projects.

You will help maintain confidential records, coordinate evaluations, and provide ongoing support to staff and volunteers throughout the summer, while working with leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Interest in gaining experience in Human Resources, Administration, Volunteer Coordination, or a related field.
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Previous administrative experience and general computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate onboarding and assist with completion of new hire paperwork, including verifying required supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with leadership to report and manage work-related injuries.
• Provide organizational information and guidance during staff and volunteer orientations.
• Provide ongoing support to staff and volunteers throughout the summer.
• Maintain accurate and confidential staff and volunteer records within organizational databases.
• Coordinate evaluation processes and collect employment feedback.
• Partner with departments and leadership to support organizational initiatives and goals.
• Create, distribute, collect, and analyze survey data.
• Prepare reports and present findings to support organizational decision-making.
• Engage as an active member of the camp and volunteer communities.
• Support special projects, assignments, and other departmental initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
