Job summary

Ghafari Associates, LLC is seeking an engineering intern to work fully in-office in our Chicago, IL location from May to August 2027. The incumbent will apply CAD/Revit skills to generate engineering design documents, digital models and databases, under supervision of discipline managers and project engineers.

The role emphasizes hands-on design support, collaboration with engineers, and production of final documents for review.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline; minimum two years of coursework completed.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (Revit, AutoCAD) and MS Office; initiative and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering documents using CAD tools (AutoCAD and Revit).
• Collaborate with engineers to understand scope and determine data needs for design.
• Produce and correct drawings and digital models for review by engineers.
• Coordinate disciplines and resolve document coordination and production issues.
• Reproduce documents and generate 3D models as needed.
• Assist with design tasks and team problem solving.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
