Job summary

URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc.'s Free People brand seeks Apparel Design Interns for Summer 2027 at our Philadelphia home office. Interns assist from concept to sample, contribute to trend research, sketching, fabric sourcing, and presentations in a fast-paced fashion setting.

You will work with senior designers, support mood boards, CADs, and line sheets, gaining exposure to seasonal planning and mentorship with potential full-time interview opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• Strong interest in women's fashion and the Urban Outfitters aesthetic.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); CLO 3D experience a plus.
• Excellent sketching and visual communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating mood boards, color palettes, and seasonal concept presentations.
• Support the design team with sketching, CADs, and technical packages.
• Help source fabrics, trims, and inspiration materials for upcoming collections.
• Organize and maintain sample libraries, swatch books, and design archives.
• Participate in fittings, design reviews, and cross-functional meetings with buying and production teams.
• Conduct trend and market research to support design direction and innovation.
• Assist in preparing line sheets, spec sheets, and internal presentation materials.
