Job summary

Urban Outfitters is seeking Summer 2027 Design Interns for Home categories. Interns will contribute to trend research, sketching, sourcing, and presentations, working from concept to sample under the guidance of senior designers.

Program runs 6/7–8/13 at the Philadelphia Home Office. Paid internship with events, mentorship, and exposure to cross-functional teams; potential for full-time opportunities for qualifying candidates.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Furniture Design or a related field.
• Strong interest in fashion, youth culture, and the Urban Outfitters aesthetic.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); experience with CLO 3D or similar software is a plus.
• Excellent sketching and visual communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn in a creative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating mood boards, color palettes, and seasonal concept presentations.
• Support the design team with sketching, CADs, and technical packages.
• Help source fabrics, trims, and inspiration materials for upcoming collections.
• Organize and maintain sample libraries, swatch books, and design archives.
• Participate in fittings, design reviews, and cross-functional meetings with buying and production teams.
• Conduct trend and market research to support design direction and innovation.
• Assist in preparing line sheets, spec sheets, and internal presentation materials.
