Job summary
Free People is seeking Summer 2027 Design Interns to assist in developing seasonal collections from concept to final sample. You will collaborate with senior designers, contribute to trend research, sketching, fabric sourcing and presentation building in a fast-paced fashion environment.
Interns will work across Print Design, Embroidery/Embellishment and Textile/Fabric Development, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced designers in a dynamic, creative setting at URBN’s Home
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.
- Experience with CLO 3D or similar software is a plus.
- Excellent sketching and visual communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating mood boards, color palettes, and seasonal concept presentations.
- Support the design team with sketching, CADs, and technical packages.
- Help source fabrics, trims, and inspiration materials for upcoming collections.
- Organize and maintain sample libraries, swatch books, and design archives.
- Participate in fittings, design reviews, and cross-functional meetings with buying and production teams.
- Conduct trend and market research to support design direction and innovation.
- Assist in preparing line sheets, spec sheets, and internal presentation materials.
