Penn Mutual is offering a Summer Actuarial Internship designed for students pursuing actuarial science. This 11-week program is paid and largely remote, with a dedicated onsite week in Conshohocken, PA to meet the actuarial team in person.

Interns gain hands-on exposure across product development, financial management, risk management, and actuarial analytics, applying quantitative skills to real business challenges within a leading mutual life insurance company.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• Actuarial exams are not required for eligibility, but progress toward credentials is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet goals.
• Demonstrated initiative and collaborative work style.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support actuarial analyses related to key business initiatives within product development, financial management, and risk management.
• Compile, validate, and analyze data for actuarial studies, experience analyses, and management reporting.
• Assist with actuarial calculations, financial projections, reserve analyses, and other analytical projects.
• Document methodologies, assumptions, and results to support actuarial models and business decision-making.
• Collaborate with teammates and business partners while contributing toward shared team goals and objectives.
