Job summary

Sonoma State University is seeking a part-time Upward Bound Summer Academy Instructor to teach two courses to high school students. You will develop lessons for a Six-week STEM program and deliver 90-minute classes, up to two per day, supporting college readiness.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree; teaching credential preferred, and experience with diverse populations and TRIO programs is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; BA/BS with teaching credential preferred.
• Expertise in at least one academic content area.
• Experience teaching high school or college students.
• Ability to develop curriculum per state standards.
• Knowledge of diverse student needs and TRIO programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach two courses to high school students in subjects such as English, science, math, programming, or SAT/ACT prep.
• Develop and implement lesson plans for the Six-week Summer/STEM Academy.
• Deliver 90-minute class periods, up to two classes per day.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and diverse populations.
