Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College invites applications for a part-time STEM instructor to lead the Trio Summer Academy for high school students (9th–12th grade). The six-week program runs June to July with planning starting in June; duties include teaching, planning, and assessing student work.

Expect 12–15 hours per week, typically 1:00 pm–3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with a focus on developing engaging lessons and providing written class summaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• Experience teaching STEM to high school and/or college students.
• Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Teaches STEM to high school students (9th–12th grade).
• Monitors and keeps a daily log of attendance, behavior, and academic development.
• Assists in developing daily lesson plans and formative & summative assessments.
• Develops and maintains class syllabi and grade reports.
• Provides a comprehensive written summary on each class taught.
• Develops engaging and hands-on lessons to facilitate teaching and learning.
