Job summary

The California State University, Sonoma campus seeks an Upward Bound Summer Academy Instructor (Casual Worker) for a six-week program. The role teaches two courses to high school students in subjects such as English, science, math (through calculus), computer programming, and SAT/ACT preparation.

Each class runs about 90 minutes, with up to two classes per day. This part-time, temporary, hourly position starts at $40–$45 per hour.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
• BA/S with teaching credential preferred.
• One-year experience teaching middle, high school, or college students.
• Ability to develop and implement curriculum in accordance with state standards.
• Computer literacy required.
• Proven success in overcoming obstacles similar to those of target population desired.
• Experience with TRIO programs preferred.
• Ability to communicate with all levels within the university and establish inclusive working relationships among diverse populations.
