Job summary

Notre Dame in Benton Harbor, MI, seeks an undergraduate student to contribute to rapid learning cycles and new product development. You will lead a design initiative aligned with your interests and present results to leadership.

You will use project management, guided experiments, and knowledge tools to plan, develop learnings, and collaborate across a global supply chain including electromechanical components, plastics, and electronics.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate enrolled full-time in an engineering or related program.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm).
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US work authorization for full-time employment without sponsorship now or in the future.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Learn about Rapid Learning Cycles, New Product Development (NPD), and designing solutions to satisfy consumer needs.
• Lead a new design or improvement initiative tailored to your experience and interests, then present results to leadership.
• Utilize project management, guided experimentation (design of experiments), and knowledge management tools to plan your project, develop and capture learnings.
• Gain exposure to a global supply chain including electromechanical components, plastics, electronics, and multi-region contract manufacturing.
• Engage and partner on innovative projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Undergraduate currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university, majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills including listening, written, and verbal abilities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, be independently driven, and adapt to changes.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Work authorization in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation & Benefits

• $31 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
• $2,500 sign-on bonus paid within first 30 days of employment.
