Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a SUE Technician in Atlanta, GA to perform subsurface utility investigations using GPR, electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation.

You will locate utilities, prepare field sketches, and collaborate with project teams to ensure safe excavation and accurate reporting. The role requires 1–2 years in SUE, familiarity with QL methods, and the ability to read plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of SUE experience
• Familiarity with SUE methods QL-B, QL-C, QLD and QL-A
• Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

• Perform subsurface utility investigations using GPR, locators, and vacuum excavation techniques
• Accurately locate and identify underground utilities (gas, electric, water, telecom)
• Prepare and interpret field sketches, utility drawings, and as-built data
• Work with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate reporting and safe excavation practices
• Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and industry standards
• Assist with preparation of reports, deliverables, and field notes
• Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean and functional condition
