Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. in Atlanta, GA seeks a SUE Technician to perform subsurface utility investigations using GPR, electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation techniques.

You will locate utilities, prepare field sketches, and support project teams while ensuring safe excavation and compliance with standards. Responsibilities include reporting, field notes, and maintaining equipment; 1–2 years of SUE experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in SUE, utility locating, or a related field.
• Familiarity with SUE methods, including QL-B, QL-C, QLD and QL-A.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Education/Experience:

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in SUE, utility locating, or a related field.

• Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Physical Requirements:

• Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
• Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
