Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC seeks a SUE Project Manager to lead subsurface utility engineering efforts in NYC or Boston. You will manage scope, budgets, and schedules while coordinating field and office teams to deliver accurate utility information.

You will serve as the primary client contact, build relationships, pursue new opportunities, and ensure deliverables meet ASCE 38-22 standards. Strong communication and leadership are essential to advancing SAM's SUE services.

Qualifications

• Experience in SUE, utility mapping, or related field with project leadership.
• Knowledge of SUE practices and ASCE 38-22 preferred.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, resources, and client relationships.
• Familiarity with CAD, GIS, and utility data management tools.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate field and office teams while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage SUE projects from kickoff through completion, overseeing scope, quality, budget, and schedule.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules; manage contracts and billing.
• Coordinate staffing and resources across multiple projects with field crews, office teams, and subconsultants.
• Build client relationships, communicate progress, and resolve issues as they arise.
• Review project deliverables for accuracy and alignment with client requirements and standards.
• Monitor project financial performance, including WIP, AR, and billing.
• Identify opportunities for additional work and support business development.
• Provide guidance to team members to strengthen skills and execution.
• Represent SAM at client meetings and relevant industry events.
