Job summary

SAM is seeking a SUE Project Manager to lead subsurface utility engineering projects from planning through final delivery. Based in either NYC or Boston, you’ll manage project scope, budgets, and schedules while coordinating field and office teams to deliver accurate utility information.

You’ll serve as a primary client contact, help solve project challenges, and support the growth of our SUE services through strong relationships and new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in SUE, utility mapping, or related field with project management or team leadership responsibilities.
• Knowledge of SUE practices and applicable standards (ASCE 38-22 preferred).
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, resources, and client relationships.
• Familiarity with CAD, GIS, and utility data management tools.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate field and office teams while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage SUE projects from kickoff through completion, overseeing scope, quality, budget, and schedule.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules; manage contracts and billing.
• Coordinate staffing and resources across multiple projects with field and office teams.
