Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a SUE Field Technician in Pleasant Grove, UT. You will collect field data, designate utilities, and coordinate with project teams to meet deadlines, using ASCE 38 standards. This role involves occasional travel, lifting up to 75 pounds, and working in varied weather conditions.

You must have a valid driver’s license, safety certifications, and the ability to learn new technologies on the job. A background in SUE or utility locating is preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-8 years’ SUE Tech experience or 0-10 years locating services.
• Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders and team players.
• Willingness to travel and work in all weather conditions.
• Must obtain and maintain DOT medical card.
• Strong math and measurement skills for field work.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain all required safety certifications.
• Communicate clearly with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate.
• Organize field schedules and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
• Operate or assist with vacuum excavation equipment to expose utilities for verification.
• Locate existing utilities using ASCE 38 standards.
• Accurately collect field data and document findings.
• Coordinate with supervisor to meet client-specific requirements.
• Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings.
• Travel for overnight/extended stay projects as required.
• Lifting up to 75 pounds and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
