Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a SUE Technician to perform subsurface utility investigations at job sites. You will use GPR, electromagnetic locators and vacuum excavation to locate utilities and support safe excavation.

Responsibilities include drafting field sketches and utility drawings, and collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate reporting. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of SUE experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in SUE or utility locating.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform subsurface utility investigations using GPR, electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation.
• Locate and identify underground utilities (gas, electric, water, telecom).
• Prepare and interpret field sketches, utility drawings, and as-built data.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and field staff to ensure accurate reporting and safe excavation.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
• Assist with reports, deliverables, and field notes.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles in good condition.
