Description

As a SUE Field Technician, you will support the New Mexico team by collecting field data and working on multiple projects simultaneously.

$28.00 - $33.00 / hour
Core Responsibilities:
- Obtain and maintain all required safety certifications.
- Communicate effectively with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate.
- Manage time effectively to organize and work on multiple projects to meet deadlines and client needs.
- Locate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies.
- Collect field data accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with supervisors to ensure client-specific demands are met both in the office and in the field.
- Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings, and highway design plans.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to help achieve company goals.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions, be willing to work evenings and weekends when required, and travel for overnight and extended stay projects.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
- 3-6 years’ experience in utility designating/locating services.
- High School Diploma or GED; additional training is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a team-player attitude.
- Attention to detail and ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
- Willingness to travel out of town and work overtime.
- Ability to walk several miles daily.
- Good driving skills and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work well with others and outdoors in all climates.
- Knowledge of ASCE 38 guidelines and related quality levels is a plus.
- Experience with Survey, 811, or Bluestakes is a plus.
- Strong computer and technical skills; familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar is a plus.
