Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and during transitions.
• Attend selected substitute roles, being in prompt attendance, and remain on duty as specified by the principal or designee.
• Make the absent teacher aware of special situations or problems encountered.
• Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
• Present information clearly and respond to students and staff.
• Handle stressful situations professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality of student matters.
• Manage time and responsibilities efficiently.
• Maintain professional appearance, attitude and demeanor.

REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Principal, other appropriate administrators

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
