Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, assembling, serving and clean-up of meals following Food Service policies and procedures.
• Supervise and instruct student workers assisting with the meal period.
• Follow sanitation, safety and temperature control procedures per health department standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report problems to the appropriate department promptly.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Food Services Director.

Substitute Server Helpers are limited to working 600 hours per school year.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have valid Health Certificate.
• Ability to relate well with other food service workers and other school personnel.
• Demonstrate ability to operate and care for institutional kitchen equipment and ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrate ability to do basic mathematics and change menus for proportioned quantities and attendance factors.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Always punctual.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find acceptable.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with preparation, assembling, serving and clean-up of meals following Food Service policies and procedures and comply with regulations concerning meal pattern requirements.
• Supervise and instruct student workers assisting with the meal period.
• Follow proper sanitation, safety and temperature control procedures in accordance with health department standards.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and report all problems to appropriate department in a timely manner.
• Additional duties as requested by the Food Services Director.
