Job summary

Innovation Learning is hiring a part-time Resilience Coach for the 2026-2027 school year at Westfield Elementary School in Winthrop Harbor, IL. The role is an on-site substitute position with flexible hours before/after school, breaks, and summer programs.

You will mentor students, support academic activities, and promote safety and positive behavior. Responsibilities include leading enrichment activities, homework help, supervision, and teamwork with site staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 18 years old or older.
• Experience working with children in schools, childcare programs, camps, recreation programs, or youth organizations preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Now Hiring for the 2026-2027 School Year! Location: School-Based Program Site - Westfield School in Winthrop Harbor, IL

Reports To: Head Coach/Site Leadership

Schedule: Part-Time (Before & After School Programs, School Breaks, and Summer Programs)

Monday-Friday: 2:30PM-6PM at Westfield Elementary School in Winthrop Harbor

Mon-Fri: 2:15PM-5:30PM at St. Patricks in Wadsworth

PLEASE NOTE: This is a substitute role that is utilized on an as-needed basis when permanent staff are unable to work due to illness, time off, etc. We are looking for candidates who are available to work at either site listed. This role does not have a guaranteed number of hours per week or a consistent schedule.

Pay: $19-21/hour, based on experience and region

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 18 years old or older
• Experience working with children in schools, childcare programs, camps, recreation programs, or youth organizations preferred.
• Prior leadership experience in a childcare setting is a strong plus!
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for youth development.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
