Ameren Services is seeking an Electrical Designer I to support transmission substations and related facilities. You will draft detailed drawings from preliminary designs and maintain CAD files in the drawing management system.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years CAD experience or 3 years CAD-related work, and an EEI aptitude test. A valid driver’s license is required; field site work and training are included.

Formación

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pass the EEI Technical Aptitude test (up to two retakes).
• Two years as a CAD Technician or three years CAD-related work.
• Associates Degree in design drafting, CAD technology, or related field.
• At least 9 credit hours in electrical design/engineering.
• Complete Electrical Designer I training with at least 80% on evaluation.
• Transfers/new hires must complete evaluation within six months.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare finished drawings from preliminary designs, diagrams, layouts, sketches, notes, specifications, or verbal instructions.
• Make study drawings and assist with electrical drawings in project development.
• Determine wire sizes, conduit sizes, etc.
• Create wiring diagrams from schematics.
• Prepare schedules and bills of materials.
• Occasionally check drawings of other CAD staff.
• Mentor or train others in the department.
