Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking a Designer Associate/Senior candidate to perform CAD drafting, study layouts and design development for electrical substations. You will prepare detailed drawings, check for standards compliance, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure safe, efficient execution.

Role requires an AAS in drafting/CAD or related field, with 4–8 years in electric utility drafting; overtime and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in applied science (AAS) drafting and CAD or related engineering technology, or equivalent experience.
• Equivalent experience without AAS: high school graduate with 4 years in electric utility drafting/CAD work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily work routines to maintain efficient production.
• Create, revise and maintain detailed engineering and record drawings and sketches.
• Create and maintain material and property equipment records.
• Read vendors' prints and shop drawings and incorporate information into work.
