Job summary

Saber Power Services in Houston, TX seeks an Electrical Drafter I to support substations and transmission/distribution line projects. You will assist in producing accurate drawings, 3D models, and construction documents using CAD tools, under supervision from engineers.

Entry-level role focused on gaining expertise in power delivery systems, with opportunities to learn AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and Civil 3D while contributing to NEC and NESC compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Electrical Design, Civil Design or related field.
• Internship or prior experience in electrical utility, substation, or structural design preferred.
• Familiarity with common substation components such as transformers, breakers, disconnects, relays, and bus structures.

Responsibilities

• Create structural and electrical layout drawings for substations and T&D infrastructure.
• Assist in preparing and revising CAD drawings for high voltage substation projects, including one-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Plan and profile drawings for overhead and underground lines; organize and maintain drawing files.
