Job summary

Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist to contribute to electric transmission, distribution and substation projects. You will provide AutoCAD-based engineering support, draft plans, and prepare schematics and installation drawings while coordinating with field teams and other departments.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience, an associate degree in engineering, and AutoCAD certification.

Qualifications

• Two or more years providing technical engineering support, preferably in electric utilities.
• Associate degree in Engineering or closely related field is required.
• AutoCAD training or certification is required.
• Knowledge of substation schematics and wiring diagrams is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support using AutoCAD for utility design projects.
• Draft, measure, revise plans and as-built drawings according to field mark-ups.
• Prepare schematics and wiring diagrams for substation projects.
• Create and distribute design packages and maintain design standards.
• Support QA/QC for consistency on designs and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and field teams on site.
• Visit project sites to develop solutions and corresponding designs.
