Job summary

Ulteig seeks an Engineering Manager for the Substation department to lead a team of civil and/or electrical engineers and technicians while supporting substation projects, business development and company initiatives.

The role emphasizes leadership, resource management, and engagement across sales, marketing and project management, with a focus on delivering quality design and project oversight across all lifecycle stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university or equivalent.
• 12+ years of experience in engineering preferred.
• PE registration is required.
• Analytical, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure with a collaborative attitude.
• Focused on internal engagement and developing others.
• Strong business acumen and industry knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• High initiative and ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; knowledge of additional software.
• Authorization to work permanently in the US; valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project Technical Lead responsible for all engineering activities during proposal, design and construction for substation projects.
• Provide substation project oversight, manage scope per contracts, develop change orders and maintain schedules.
• Coordinate activities of multiple disciplines and PM groups on large projects.
• Maintain high quality and responsiveness to meet client requirements and align with company expectations.
• Oversee Substation design activities and review project drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Lead team, provide technical leadership and accountability for deliverables.
