Job summary

Electric Power Systems, Inc. in Anchorage seeks an experienced Substation Testing & Commissioning Manager to lead our technician team in field testing and project management for substation and generation equipment.

This role blends hands-on testing with client coordination, estimating, scheduling, and reporting. Applicants must reside in Alaska or relocate, and be willing to travel within Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, and beyond.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with high-voltage power systems, relays, controls, or substation apparatus
• Familiarity with project management, estimating, and direct client interaction
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and self-management
• Willing and able to relocate to Alaska if not currently residing there
• Willingness to travel extensively within Alaska, as well as to the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, and the South Pacific

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of substation and generation equipment
• Manage small to mid-sized projects including estimating, quoting, and direct client communication
• Oversee and coordinate work for field technicians and support project execution
• Balance field work with office tasks such as documentation, scheduling, and reporting
• Identify new project opportunities and support business development efforts
