Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a full-time Structural/Civil Engineering Intern (Substation) to join our Oradell, NJ office for the summer internship program. The position targets students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate civil engineering program with a start around May 17, 2027.

You will work with senior staff on real projects, gaining mentorship, exposure to power delivery and grid services, and experience across planning, design, and field tasks within a 12-week program.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, tools
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills
• Apply structural engineering principles to design structures and foundations for substation equipment
• Assist with project research, field work, design calculations and analysis
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
• Complete training on assigned tasks
