Job summary

WSP USA is offering a Full-Time Structural Engineering (Substation) Intern position in our Portland, OR office for the upcoming summer program. You will work alongside senior staff in the Power and Energy team, gaining hands-on experience across research, field work, and preliminary design tasks during a 12-week window starting May 17, 2027.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering undergraduate or graduate program with a graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
