Job summary

WSP USA is offering a full-time Structural/Civil Engineering Intern (Substation) internship at our Oradell, NJ office for currently enrolled undergraduates. The 12-week program starts May 17, 2027, with a flexible start date for the individual.

Compensation ranges hourly and includes mentorship and exposure to real projects within the Power and Energy group. Applicants must be enrolled in Civil Engineering or related programs, be 18+, and show interest in civil engineering.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering and strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Apply structural engineering principles to design structures and foundations supporting substation equipment.
• Assist with project research, field work, and design calculations/analysis.
• Support final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
