Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Substation Structural Engineer for our Denver area opportunities, with potential work in Billings, MT and other locations. You will support planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural solutions for electrical substations, including steel and concrete foundations.

You will develop calculations, criteria, and drawings, review deliverables, and collaborate with electrical, civil, geotechnical, and construction teams to ensure quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 3–5 years of post-education structural engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification required.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, soil mechanics and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional structural engineering work for electrical substation projects.
• Prepare structural calculations and design criteria per codes and client standards.
• Develop construction specifications, cost estimates, and technical inputs.
• Produce/Review structural drawings and fabrication-ready documents.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, geotechnical, and construction teams.
• Use structural analysis tools to size systems and foundations.
• Mentor junior team members and support project managers.
