Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Substation Structural Engineer for its Billings, MT area with preferred locations including Boise, Hailey, Denver, and surrounding regions. You will contribute to steel structures, rigid bus supports, and foundations, delivering designs that meet code and safety standards.

The role requires a Structural or Civil Engineering degree, 3–5 years of post‑graduate experience, and an EIT certification.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
3–5 years of post-education structural engineering experience.
Engineer in Training Certification (EIT).
Knowledge of structural design principles (steel, concrete, foundations).
Familiarity with building codes and structural standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE).
Experience with structural analysis software (RISA-3D/STAAD Pro).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

Perform professional structural engineering work for electrical substation projects, including steel structures and foundations.
Prepare calculations, design criteria, and calculation packages.
Develop construction specifications and cost estimates for proposals.
Produce and review structural drawings and fabrication documentation.
Coordinate with electrical, civil, geotechnical, and construction teams.
