Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern (Substation) to contribute to design and analysis on substation projects across multiple Texas locations and beyond. This full-time summer internship offers hands-on experience in design specifications, contract drawings, and engineering analyses while you complete your degree.

Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with emphasis on structures is required, no prior experience needed.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Enrollment in ABET accredited Civil Engineering program with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• At least 1 design course preferred.
• Must meet pre-employment onboarding requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support development of design specifications and contract drawings
• Perform various tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
• Prepare basic calculations
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
• Organize and file project materials and references
