Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern (Substation) to contribute to infrastructure projects and learn through hands-on design work. You will support design specifications, basic calculations, and analysis tasks under supervision, gaining exposure to diverse substation projects.

Selected candidates will be located in or relocate to Raleigh, NC; Ann Arbor, MI; or Orlando, FL, and must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with a structural emphasis; a design

Qualifications

• No experience required; current enrollment in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with a focus on Structural Engineering
• Preference for at least 1 design course within coursework
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) such as background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Support development of design specifications and contract drawings
• Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
• Prepare basic calculations
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
• Organize and file project materials and references
