Black & Veatch Corporation in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Structural Engineer (Substation) Summer Intern to contribute to design development and documentation on real infrastructure projects. Chosen candidates will be located in or relocate to Overland Park.

This internship offers hands-on experience across disciplines within a 100% employee-owned company environment. Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with at least one design course is preferred; no experience

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree with a focus on structural design.
• At least one design course recommended.
• No prior internship required; willingness to learn and contribute.

Responsibilities

• Support development of design specifications and contract drawings.
• Assist with engineering analyses, report production, and design tasks.
• Prepare basic calculations.
• Organize and file project materials and references.
