Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an entry-level civil engineer to support the power delivery group in Colorado. You will help design high-voltage substation structures and foundations, perform structural analysis and calculations, and develop drawings, specifications, and reports.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and site visits are key aspects of the role. The ideal candidate holds a structural-focused civil engineering degree, is EIT-certified or will obtain it within a year, and is proficient

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
0–4 years of relevant experience.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certified, or ability to obtain within one year.
Familiarity with Excel and Word.
Preferred experience with AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, RISA 3D, or MathCAD, but not required.
Current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to work in rough terrain, construction/rural outdoor sites, industrial facilities, and around moving machinery, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to conduct fieldwork in heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain.
Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Support the power delivery group by designing high-voltage substation structures and foundations.
Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations and modeling.
Develop plans, drawings, technical specifications, reports, and design documentation.
Work with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and project managers.
Participate in engineering site visits and construction observation activities.
Verify compliance with design intent.
Conduct up to 10% domestic fieldwork.

Use structural engineering and office software to support project tasks and collaboration
Participate in engineering site visits and construction observation activities

Conduct up to 10% domestic fieldwork

Requirements
