- Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
- Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements
- Perform structural analysis for wood pole loading and guying calculations
- Specify conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans
- Calculate voltage drop and flicker
- Provide engineering support during construction
- Conduct post-construction reviews for engineering and construction standards compliance
- Conduct root cause analysis of outages and develop mitigation using engineering principles and design
- Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
- Assess and develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments
- Develop work permits, easements, and right-of-way applications
- Work directly with clients to maintain high-quality deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred) with 0+ years of experience
- Experience with NESC Standards, ESRI, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and GIS a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to utilize a personal vehicle
- Willingness to perform both field and office work
- Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion
- Customer-site visits may be required to collect field data
- Valid U.S. driver's license required
- Some local or regional travel is expected
