Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Station Electrician/Servicer to install, operate, inspect, repair, and remove station equipment. You will respond to emergencies and coordinate rapid service restoration, while performing routine and emergency switching and supervising maintenance tasks.

The role requires knowledge of electrical systems, adherence to safety rules, and the ability to work from electrical drawings. Overtime may be required, with considerable travel in certain assignments.

Qualifications

• High school graduation and an associate degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Equivalent education and experience may include military training or industry technician roles.
• Must be able to read electrical drawings and follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls on station trouble; analyze conditions and coordinate restoration.
