Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in Texas is seeking a Station Electrician/Servicer to perform installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of station equipment. You will respond to emergency calls, coordinate prompt restoration of service, and operate switching procedures with safety and compliance in mind.

Requirements include an Associate degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology, 24 months of related experience, and a valid Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology or equivalent education.
• 24 months of satisfactory work experience as a Station Servicer A or Station Electrician A with additional requirements.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Thorough working knowledge of electricity and station equipment, and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls on station trouble and coordinate prompt restoration of service.
• Perform routine and emergency switching operations at substations as directed.
• Be proficient at EHV switching as necessary and oversee contractor work.
• Maintain station equipment and inspect on required schedule; report major repairs.
