Job summary
CenterPoint Energy is seeking a Substation Engineer in Houston, Texas, to join the Substation Resilience Engineering Design Team. You will provide engineering support for the design, analysis, construction and operations of CenterPoint Energy's substations with a focus on electrical and structural design.
You will use CAD, SAP, GIS and Microstation to develop drawings, prepare packages, and coordinate with field personnel and vendors to ensure timely project delivery and safe operation of
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum two years of electric utility or power engineering experience.
- Experience in substation physical design is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and review electrical design drawings for substations.
- Develop one-lines, relay and metering diagrams, and schematics.
- Manage projects to meet timelines and reasonable costs.
- Prepare engineering/construction packages with BOMs and maps.
- Coordinate with inspectors, engineers, vendors and field personnel.
- Support construction, operation, and maintenance of substation infrastructure.
