Job summary

CenterPoint Energy, Houston, TX seeks an Electrical Engineer II System Reliability to perform engineering analysis aimed at improving the reliability and performance of the electric distribution system. You will analyze circuit loading, use historic data, and develop recommendations to enhance reliability.

You will gather data from SAP, GIS and service centers, build electrical models, identify unbalanced circuits, and support investigations into voltage issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical preferred) from an accredited college or university.
• Entry level to 2 years of engineering or utility experience.
• Ability to use mathematics for complex engineering design calculations.
• Ability to interpret electrical models, drawings, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and system operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze circuit loading and identify reliability and operational issues.
• Use engineering tools to identify potential reliability issues and propose solutions.
• Gather data from SAP, GIS, Key Accounts, and Service Centers to build models.
• Identify unbalanced circuits and coordinate corrective actions with field teams.
• Support investigations of voltage issues and reliability-related inquiries.
