Qualus Corporation is seeking a Relay Field Technician II to support testing and maintenance of substation protection systems in our Field Engineering group. You will work with electro-mechanical, solid state, and microprocessor relays, perform testing and calibration, and ensure proper operation of communication circuits and protections across client sites.

You will interpret wiring diagrams, use automated test sets, and troubleshoot results while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1 year of commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing and repairing substation relaying and control schemes
• Experience handling simple volt-ohm-meter and hand tools
• Experience reading One Line and wiring diagrams (AC & DC)
• Proficient with Windows, Android/iPhone apps for device connections and data access
• Ability to perform field work in varying environments and weather
• Must lift at least 30 lbs and have a valid driver’s license

Responsabilités

• Support acceptance testing and routine maintenance of substation power equipment and relays
• Verify metering, calibrate relays, and perform trip testing and DFR/SER checks
• Ensure communication circuits are connected and operating
• Interpret AC/DC schematics and wire circuits accordingly
• Perform IED testing with automated test sets for protection schemes
• Troubleshoot anomalies and ensure safety and site inspections
• Manage documents and file storage across software platforms
• Apply test procedures for various relay test equipment
• Maintain substation safety awareness and readiness
