Job summary

Madison Gas and Electric is seeking a Substation Relay and Control Tester 1 to perform inspections of substation equipment and non-live switching in substations, with work limited to de-energized low-voltage systems. Initial duties require direct supervision and adherence to safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited Electronic Technician program.
• Must have a temperament and personality enabling effective work as a member of a crew or team.
• Must be reasonably available for overtime and emergency work assignments.
• Must have and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Under Direct Supervision: Non-live line tool switching, Hold Card installation, preventive maintenance inspections of transmission and distribution substations, assemble and wire non-energized remote terminal unit panels, pull control cabling, hot stick cleaning and testing, assist in installing and maintaining protective and control systems for transformers, circuit breakers, reclosers, capacitor banks, control cables, relays, meters, and misc substation equipment.
